ancient woodland buffer

The standing advice by Natural England (2014) specifies that a development must be kept as far as possible from ancient woodland, the appropriate distance depending on circumstances. The buffer must be retained permanently and allowed to develop into semi-natural habitat, so that domestic gardens are not suitable.
