Biodiversity action plan

(BAP)

The UK government’s initial response to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, which called for national strategies to identify, conserve and (wherever possible) enhance biodiversity. The UK BAP was written in 1994 and identified priority species and priority habitats warranting specific conservation measures.
