cableway
Equipment used in forestry operations for extracting logs from areas inaccessible to skidders and forwarders, primarily from steep hillsides. The logs are suspended partly or wholly above the ground, and extracted to a roadside timber landing, by cable systems (including the skyline winch and high-lead system).
