carbon dioxide equivalence

A standard way of expressing the warming effect of greenhouse gases other than carbon dioxide (CO2): having the same atmospheric warming effect as CO2 over 100 years. One tonne of CO2-eqivalent is abbreviated to 1t CO2e.
