Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb)

The professional body for those settling disputes by arbitration, mediation or any other method of alternative dispute resolution (ie. any method that avoids legal action). The CIArb was founded in 1915, was granted a royal charter in 1979 and has 12,500 members throughout the world.
