green space benefits (health)

People with good access to green space are more likely to be physically active, saving the National Health Service a possible £1.2bn per year, while a lack of exercise is said to cost the wider economy £8.2bn per year. Vegetation also improves air quality. Overall, the National ecosystem assessment estimates that the health benefits of living close to green space are worth up to £300 per person per year.
