The kinds of fruit grown on trees, for instance apple (Malus domestica), pear (Pyrus communis), quince (Cydonia oblonga), medlar (Mespilus germanica), plum (Prunus domestica), peach (Prunus persica), apricot (Prunus armenica) and cherry (Prunus spp.), all of which have seeds in a fleshy edible exterior.
