World conservation strategy

The report World conservation strategy: Living resource conservation for sustainable development (IUCN,1980), written by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature under the auspices of the UN. The report drew attention to the need to maintain ecosystem services, preserve biodiversity and manage renewable resources without over-exploiting them.
