red deer (Cervus elaphus)

One of six species of deer in Britain. Together with roe deer it is native, but is likely to be intermingled with park escapes of introduced races and with sika deer. Red deer are Britain’s largest land mammal, standing 135cm at the shoulder and weighing up to 190kg.
