resin
A clear yellowish or brownish sticky liquid naturally secreted by some plants, notably conifers, often giving them a distinctive strong smell. Resin is insoluble in water and hardens in air. More broadly, any liquid, whether occurring naturally or man-made, capable of setting into a hard enamel-like finish.
