Victorian gardens
Two of the best-known landscape designers of the 19thC, Joseph Paxton (1803-1865) and William Barron (1805-1891), favoured collections of conifers in the gardens they created. The Victorians also established public parks of bold design and large cemeteries by private enterprise.
