watering tube
A tube installed adjacent to a newly planted tree which protrudes above the soil surface at one end and extends at least to the depth of the roots at the other. The tree is watered via the tube as appropriate, minimizing weed growth and evaporation losses and encouraging the tree to develop a relatively deep root system.
