Solid wood used as a fuel for heating. See log. The energy density of firewood is about 5 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per oven-dry kg for non-resinous wood and 6 kWh per oven-dry kg for resinous wood. Bark and branchwood have relatively high energy densities.
