gibberellin

A naturally occurring biochemical in plants, sometimes called a plant growth substance, plant regulator or plant hormone. Gibberellins stimulate shoot elongation and are involved in the regulation of numerous other life processes including dormancy and leaf senescence. Anti-gibberellins are growth retardants.
