Oppressive and unreasonable conduct directed at an individual, including repeated and unwanted attempts to communicate in a manner likely to cause distress or fear. Harassment is an offence under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 as amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. It may be a civil offence or a criminal offence.
