horse chestnut bleeding canker
This disease is attributed to the bacterium Pseudomonas syringae pv. aesculi. Phytophthora spp. can also cause cankers in horse chestnut and may contribute to the symptoms. The disease kills the bark, resulting in conspicuous bleeding that dries into a black bark exudate
